From 21st to 30th November 2014 in Sobótka, near Wrocław, 22 young people from Ukraine and Poland took part in our youth exchange financed by Polish Ministry of Education. The project aimed at strengthening Polish-Ukrainian youth dialogue and fostering the bond between the neighbouring countries. To provide that we used a bunch of non-formal education tools. UNESCO Initatives Centre, together with participants brought to us by AEGEE Dnipropetrovsk, had a tour through tangled history of Lower Silesia, how the road to freedom looked like and how the citizens are being active nowadays. During the exchange we had three thematic blocks: “yesterday”, when we learned about oral history and Righteous Among Nations; “today” when we got to know cultures of our countries (language and stereotypes); “tomorrow” when we prepared workshops in school and worked on a publication about methods that we used. Methods such as: Derdians, The onion of Identity, Workshops about Slava and Izydor Woloszanski, which were developed under “Indifference hurts: project.
