„School without homophobia” – EOG grant

62% of pupils were hiding their sexual orientation, 34% were telling about it only to certain people and only 4% were able to fully come out with it.  How does the situation in schools affect this kind of behaviours? What actions do the schools undertake to limit the discrimination and how do they support non-heterosexual pupils? This is the topic of the project, led by Association Lambda, in which we are partner organisation. This is one of the first initiatives in Poland, which aims at preparing teachers to act against and reacting to homophobia in schools. The workshop scenarios and textbook will be prepared by an expert group, which will define good practices in fighting discrimination. The project also plans to organise series of trainings concerning the topic for school staff. Conference organised by Warsaw Centre of Educational-Social and Training Innovations will be the summary of the whole enterprise. During the meeting, the textbook and possibilities for its use will be presented. The organisers will present good practices gathered as a result of expert group work.
